Search Engine Optimisation - Back to Basics

Search Engine Optimisation - Back to Basics
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Ashley_Bryan]Ashley Bryan

Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) is still one of the most overlooked and under utilised means of advertising a website, and even many web development companies seem to have trouble understanding it, and applying it to the websites they design and develop. SEO is simply the process whereby a website is designed and developed with a view to it being well indexed on one or more search engines.

Search engines are the cornerstone of your website marketing campaign because the majority of websites are still found via search engines.  Here are some commonly asked questions about SEO:

Is it free?

For the most part adding your site to a search engine is still free, although with the huge number of websites now going live the wait for your site to appear on that search engine can be long (several months).  This is especially true of International search engines, many of whom have introduced paid “express submissions”.  These can be value for money, but be careful.

Submit to 15,000,000 search engines for free?

Don’t you believe it.  I do not recommend any company use these tools to submit their website to search... [More]

Importance of Keywords

Importance of Keywords
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Piet_Pein]Piet Pein

The most important component of a web page, if it concerns to come high in the search engines, are the so-called keywords. A keyword is a word or range of words where people are looking for in the search engines. If people want to learn more about horses then they type in the search engine e.g. "horses". If someone wants to learn more concerning web hosting they type "web hosting". Therefore both horses, and web hosting, are keywords.

It is very important that you know which keywords are important for your Internet site. Thereby it is not important which keywords you yourself find important, but which keywords potential visitors will type into the search box when they are in search for information which is on your site to find.

Even afterwards take the time to think about concerning the keywords: "what would an average person type into the search engines box?". Make a list of all these keywords.

For example:

-  concours

-  feeding

-  hippiqué

-  horse

-  horses

-  horse-riding

-  horse-training

-  jump

-  rider

-  riding school

Personal Brand Statement - Wordless Expression of Idea

Personal Brand Statement - Wordless Expression of Idea
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=David_Sandusky]David Sandusky

Brand statements have been around as long as there have been products and services.  Campaigns have been around telling us about the experience we can expect from a brand almost as long.  Lately, there has been the extension to what has been coined the personal brand phenomenon.  I understand why.  The new economy full of global competition and the explosion of independents.

The need to stand out and show what you can do is a new core competency even the least sales oriented people are learning.  But personal branding and the associated statements have been around as long as mankind.  Who is the first personal brand you can identify?  I am willing to bet that person had a purpose, a mission and vision you can identify.  They had a personal brand statement.

Personal brand statement has been coined by the classic marketing person turned career or executive coach - great at marketing concepts that work!

The recruiter and brand strategy person in me pays attention to the other definition of "statement".  The wordless expression of idea.  In other words, if your personal brand statement as well as mission and... [More]

Getting Into Law School - Getting Into Law School is the First Step in a Very Long Road

Getting Into Law School - Getting Into Law School is the First Step in a Very Long Road
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=H._Jefferson,_Jr.]H. Jefferson, Jr.

Getting into law school is a piece of        cake.

Getting into a good law school        - good being defined as whatever the popular              law school rankings consider good this        week - isn't such a big deal either.  That's what my book, Covert Tactics        for Getting Into the Law School of Your Choice is all about.  But              getting into law school is just the first        step in a very long road.                     Once you accept that offer of admission you have        committed yourself to spend three years and, potentially, hundreds of        thousands of dollars educating yourself so that you will be qualified to        practice law.  Of course, these costs don't even include the        potential income you are sacrificing during your additional studies.

Then, unless you are one of the few fortunate law        school students who manage to land a job with a big firm paying top        dollar, you will likely be surprised to find yourself making less as a new        lawyer than you would have been making if you'd skipped law school and        instead pursued that career in pharmaceutical sales.... For fashion enthusiasts, a fashion career can seem like a dream job; an opportunity to influence society and change the way a nation dresses for the day and evening.  Read on to see which fashion career might be right for you.

Fashion careers are essentially of two types - those in fashion design and those in the sales and marketing side of the industry (fashion merchandising).  You can further customize your fashion career by choosing to focus on a particular style or kind of garment.

Other fashion career opportunities include costume design for TV, film and theater productions; personal stylist positions with high-end department stores and private clients, fashion photography; and modeling work for everything from newspapers ads to strutting the catwalk in Milan or Paris.

But to turn your passion for fashion into a lucrative fashion career you need more than just the ideas and enthusiasm; you need technical and industry expertise to turn your creative energies into saleable apparel.

One thing fashion careers share, aside from being a rewarding outlet for your... [More]

Job Interviews - Will Practice Help?

Job Interviews - Will Practice Help?
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Moshin_Manji]Moshin Manji

Like any skill set, interviewing takes practice to be successful. Many professionals feel that their work experience and skills will speak for themselves in an interview, this is false. The experience and skills on a resume will get a person short listed, but the interview is a means of selling yourself to a potential employer in-person. We have seen numerous interviews end quickly when the candidate can not answer questions clearly, can not provide examples from previous work experience and talk about his/her resume. The premise behind being successful in the interview is being prepared.

What is the most common type of interview?

Behavioral interviewing is that the most accurate predictor of future performance is past performance in similar situations. Behavioral interviewing is usually 55% predictive of future past job behavior, while traditional interviewing is only 10% predictive. Behavioral-based interviewing provides a more objective set of facts to make employment decisions than other interviewing methods. Traditional or “open ended” interview questions ask you general questions such as "Tell me about yourself." The process of behavioral interviewing is much more probing and works very differently.

Employers use the behavioral interview technique to... [More]

Physician, Use Your Archetype to Understand and Guide Your Professional Career Path
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Francine_Gaillour]Francine Gaillour

What is the significance     of your having become a physician and how does it relate to your "destiny" or "soul path?"

For     many of coaching clients, the reason we are     working together is because their "professional" life has taken a     significant turn---or is about to.  In other words, they are either: a) questioning     whether the professional road they're on is one they want to stay on, or b) they are already     embarking on a "new road" and we're navigating the bumps, or c)     they were abruptly bumped off the road they thought was "the one"     for them.

Here     is the task that I want to challenge you, my reader, with:  look at your road in     medicine and the choices you've made, or the twists in the road that you     didn't plan on, and see if you can  find the major clues that point to your     "true self."  Your "true self"     points to your "destiny."

Let's     Have Some Fun With "Archetypes"

A     common "metaphysical" approach to looking at "true self" and     "destiny"  is to uncover your "archetype."      The work of Carl Jung and his 16 archetypes... [More]
